MY STORY

I cannot tell you the amount of excitement I get from old used wood.  Something about the the rust bleeding from nail holes that are 90 years old.  The waffle marks of a misfired hammer swing made decades if not centuries ago.  The tight grain of a slice of wood pulled out of its natural territory before "we" really cared about the damages of clear cutting a forest.  Old growth.  Just the thought of it makes my knees week and my heart start to tremble.

Years ago, I came home from working on a film project that paid me next to nothing.  I was broke.  I needed to come up with a christmas present on a zero budget.  I found several pieces of wood on the side of the road, and a baby crib.  I built a table and sliced the baby crib in two and built chairs to go with it.  The table was a hit and it really inspired me to build more.  But I wanted to give building materials a chance that could very well be on their way to the dump.  Hence, after years of refining... reclaimed wood has become my main instrument in creating furniture pieces.

I use every piece of wood I bring into my shop.  the scrap is made into wall art, and the sawdust is turned into mulch.   My carbon footprint is lookin pretty good, and I take pride in that.

I'm originally from the Midwest, and it is there that I have made friendships and ties with some really amazing people that tear down old barns.  This is a process that takes great care and precaution in order to save the precious jewel of barnwood.  It is by far, a superior wood to build with, and design commercial/residential spaces with.  Come check out my barnwood supply in North Hollywood!  I've got amazing prices that will beat out any other sources in the Los Angeles area.

Selections

Our wood is sourced from reclaimed 19th, and early-20th century barns in the heart of the midwest United States.  The diversity of wood found in 100+ year old barns is directly related to the local old-growth forests they were built from.  What you find in our warehouse truly can’t be found anywhere else.

Mixed Hardwood

Old growth oak, beech, pine, and other domestic hardwoods of this area distinguish our material from other reclaim.  Browse our aisles of 1 inch siding, 2 - 3 inch framing and structural beams from historic barns of the US.

Hand Hewn / Rough sawn Beams

Hand hewn: The ancient process of felling a tree with an axe, and then using the axe to chop away the tree into the shape of a square beam was very labor intensive. This process is known as “hand-hewning”

Rough sawn: As time progressed and saw milling began to overtake and replace hand-hewing during the 1800′s, more and more barn timbers were sawn on mills leaving the distinct lines of rough sawn material

One Inch Material

The beautiful mixture of brown, red and white tones make it the perfect blend of historic authenticity and modern sensibility.

Silver Gray

From the Canadian Border, our silver grey material gets its unique patina from the big blue skies of the high mountains.
